I'm all for protesting if it's part of a plan to effect change and not just standing and shouting obscenities.
Expectations at people who have little influence on the culture. Get involved and do something proactive.
I think the general sentiment is if you're going to protest, get involved in making change, don't just stand there and shout your 1/2
