That's the most likely to result in mass revolt. I think, more likely, they will stick to trying to manipulate elections. It's harder to prove, easier to spread doubt and misinformation, which has been their playbook thus far.

Well, that would be interesting. However, there's a reason that's never happened.... Because there's always been enough conservatives in the general public to vote for them. So, unless massive amounts of them (10s of millions) suddenly vote different, or years from now their numbers dwindle, that'll never happen.
You can use old computer parts and just build a computer to use. They don't take much processing power, so even really old stuff is fine. Then it's just a matter of installing the right OS and software. There's stuff out there for people to do this at home fairly easily. If you're willing to put in a little time for hurdles. I'd you need help, definitely ask. There's lots of savvy people around the internet willing to try and help.
