Agreed. Negotiate with your landlord. Negotiate with your employer. High inflation sucks. It necessitates a rebalancing of everything.

Migration patterns have an effect as well. If your area is in high demand the only way to escape may be to move where people are leaving.

Also as property values go up, taxes go up, rent goes up. Labor and materials for maintaining the property have certainly increased…

This is a natural consequence of eviction moratoriums. Lot’s of landlords lost $$ over the last 18 months. Now risk/reward must rebalance.

I shared one memory from my childhood and everyone thinks they can predict all my thoughts and arguments. This place is such a circle jerk.

Why do so many people here project a million evils on anyone that doesn’t subscribe 100% to the preferred line of thought?

I never said that I think anyone wants that. Can we not acknowledge that sometimes people want one thing and end up with something else?

Huh?

Look at net migration right now. People are fleeing from blue states to red.

I’m well aware of the differences. Kindly untwist your nuts.

The romanticization is scary.

As an American who got to visit east Berlin for a day (just a glimpse) the year before the wall came down—I’ll never forget that world.

Same, even a flathead screwdriver did the trick on mine.

From my research, a vaccine death must rule out all other possibilities. COVID deaths just require probable infection w/o trauma (sometimes)

There’s no scenario where the numbers ever get close, but it’s worth noting that the burden of proof is reversed for the two stats.

To be attributed as a vaccine death you basically have to die of anaphylaxis immediately after getting the jab.

Also, property taxes are paid indirectly by tenants. If taxes go up $50/mo the rent goes up by the same amount at the next lease renewal.

Are you aware that property taxes are already higher on investment properties? Primary residences have the homestead exemption.

90% capital gains tax? Why would anyone ever invest? Will you give a 90% credit on losses? Your ideas will crush us all into oblivion…

That was my thought as I read the post. If they listened there’s a reason. You’ve earned their trust. Now it’s your turn—trust yourself!

Agreed. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

The alternative is no credit. Pay in full upfront or GTFO. Is that what you would prefer?

We need to help each other when we’re down. But I don’t see the problem in referencing payment history when securing a business transaction.

You act like this is uncivilized when it’s actually the advancement that defines civilization. Maybe I’m reading into your wording too much?

Do you know anyone that has been evicted since COVID? I’ve not heard of a single municipality processing evictions so far.

Rounded up and put into a camp but I’m aware of the history.

My great grandmother was stripped of her US citizenship because she married a German immigrant PRIOR to WW1. It’s not the same as being...

Yeah, I agree that wasn’t right. I think the resistance to the label is because it’s a loaded term connected with atrocities.

There was a vast difference between the US internment camps and the Nazi concentration camps. The similarities stop at the word camp.
