How about everyone needs a state ID to vote, and when you get your state ID, you are automatically registered to vote, and the state ID will cost a modest amount like $20? And because fo the new ID requirement, there will be funding available to provide mobile ID stations to go to rural areas (We had that for a while in CT- a bus/RV like vehicel with all the stuff and staff necessary to produce driver's licenses or state IDs- and it would be in various scheduled locations on a weekly basis). .

The interesting thing is that most of Long Island is Red, but Brooklyn and Queens, which are part of New York City, are also on the island, and are Blue. Most of New York is Red when it comes to area, but when it is population- which is mostly around NYC- it is Blue. Thats why both Senators and the Governor are Dems and a significant number of Congress Reps and GOP
