No. It would surely kill a country, ruin a continent's day, drop the global temp for a few year *maybe* depending on how much particulate it throws in the atmosphere, but absolutely not kill everyone in an hemisphere.
You are severly underestimating how big an hemisphere is and at those scales you would loose a lot of the energy in space as the plasma ball extend past 100-150km.
It would suck for the whole world but in a "whoops, the usa are burning and nebraska just exploded" kind of way.

Oh I'm bad at it too, can't dogfight to save my life, but that's why you always keep a few IRM-S2s in your loadout, even in ground attack sorties :P
That and for anti-missile purposes when that Shard has the gall to try and shoot you down when you approach with enough 68s to blow up a medium sized village.
Also fun fact about ships : their radar can't see you if you fly under 10m, so if can do that all the ships are free money :D
And that's why I only play PvE games. Fuck your PvP optimally frustrating games, I'll be clowning on bots in Nuclear Option instead of raging on warthunder !

At first it comes closer and closer, sending you pics of where you live, then where you've been recently, then where you are right now, with mal0 in the scene (you cannot see it yet), then you start seeing it in the corner of your vision, then in reflections, then it is with you. More and more. Then always, constantly in the room with you. It doesn't really do anything, but you will never be alone again. It's unclear if wants anything, or even if can want at all
