You're right! I used to work at a chicken plant that processed 1.5 million birds per week. It was a medium sized plant in that company.
I've been saying this from the beginning. There are so many poultry in the US that a few million lost is going to make almost no difference.

The rice fields in Arkansas lead to massive flocks of ducks in the area. That area is one of the best in the world for duck hunting.
