I think it's wrong to look back and confuse "ok" with "not widely frowned upon". Calling things that we didn't like "gay" wasn't frowned upon, but that didn't make it ok. I cringe super hard at some of the jokes I made in high school, they weren't ok at the time, but nobody told me otherwise. I've never had a problem with people's orientation or gender, but that doesn't reduce the harm of things I said in ignorance.
Amity comes from a wealthy family, so it could just be money. That wouldn't explain Luz being in the same room though.

He's had grey hair since his 20's iirc. It's dyed for this movie, or a good wig. Planes trains and automobiles came out the year before and he has grey/white hair in that.

The star wars novels had the same problem. 100 authors of varying quality writing stories in the same universe. Some were great, but lots of mediocre stuff too.

So even if she edited the post to admit she was wrong, apologize for everything she said and tell the 100% truth... nobody would see it.
