Why accept being tracked by all these social media platforms, but not a VPN? Is it because Google or Facebook doesn't own it? There's a lot of trusted free VPN's out there, just like there's a lot of paid VPN's who track you anyways.

so do facebook, instagram, imgur, twitter, spotify, etc., and they're still as private as a paid vpn (your isp and the host server won’t know where you’re going or coming from). weird thing to gripe about.
