I don't think the point is to leave animals to die, it's to encourage people to find an experienced shelter for hurt/ abandoned wildlife
Keeping native wild animals is prohibited except under permit in most regions of Canada though many people are not aware of it
I took a course on baby-led-weaning and the dietitian recommend chicken livers as the best 'first food' for a 6 month old (Canada not USA)
