I took my first step onto the road after the walk sign came on and felt immediate panic, I mean FULL BLOWN fight or flight response. My legs and arms jittered, hair standing on end, adrenaline pumping, pure panic! I took a step back just in time for a black pickup truck (no clue who) absolutely FLY past me, scraping up the curb I was standing on, blowing straight through the red light and barreling further down the road out of sight around the bend. My coworkers noticed i was pale on return
Turned out a rapist/murderer had escaped from prison earlier and was hiding in those very same woods, and he had a thing for younger women.The second time was far more abrupt. Was on break from work, walked down the street to cross a Main Road to get to a McDonalds for cheap lunch. After grabbing my order and starting to head back, the main road was weirdly barren. And I mean not even birds flying or anything. I waited for the walk sign to change my way (better safe than sorry right?) /2
Got 2. My parents divorced when I was pretty young. My father's FIRST remarriage led to me having a step sister. While visiting their home over one summer break we went to go play outside in the neighborhood. The far end of the neighborhood had a cul-de-sac that had some.woods growing along 1 side, and the local highway was just a little ways beyond those woods. The both of us stopped right by the edge of the woods, and both explained that we had the inexplicable feeling to leave right away /1
