My 78-year old friend who was battling breast cancer for the second time (she survived) bitched about how the "cancer diet" wasn't working because she didn't lose weight during chemo the second time. She also mentioned her cancer to get discounts places. She has a brilliantly dark sense of humor.

I had a pet tarantula in high school, which I would let wander around my room under supervision sometimes. I once got distracted and forgot she was out, and must have startled her because she "threw" hairs. They didn't hit me, but when I later realized she was still out and I put her away, I saw a spot of hairs where she had been. While thinking, "I wonder if these are the hairs that sting" I stuck my fingers in them (because I'm a slow learner). They indeed stung. For a couple days.
