I've gotten a confused reaction a couple of times, where the other person kind of awkwardly switches between he and she, which has felt pretty good.
I kinda feel like the biggest obstacle to "looking they/them-y" (obviously aside from actively-hostile transphobia) is just general awareness that it's a category that even exists.

Nope, "Warframe 1999" is the name of the next upcoming update/story quest/game mode(?). Apparently, we're time traveling back to (an alternate) 1999, for reasons that'd require being up to date on the last year or two of story quests to make sense of.
To be fair, fake-Lotus was around for a good few years. Looking up dates on the wiki... it was almost exactly 4 years from Apostasy Prologue to The New War, which isn't quite 3 years old yet. Obviously, 3 years is plenty long enough to have caught up by now, but 4 years is a long time for screenshots and memes to accumulate.
I duno, if you're 8 years behind, that'd be a lot to try to quickly catch up on in a week or two; assuming you're coming back intending to jump straight into 1999. Sure, you could probably do, it, but it kinda sounds like a good way to burn yourself out.
Presumably, "disintegration" turns the object into an equivalent mass of some kind of residue: dust, vapor, etc. Which you would *absolutely not* want to do to nuclear waste.
Of course, realistically, the energy you'd have to dump into any object to vaporize it would leave the resulting gas cloud very hot, and hot gasses expand...
"Three shots disintegrates" might be the *most* absurdly impossible thing in the entire show. Most everything else at least got some technobabble justification...
