You’re completely missing my point. Kill Brian Hastings? Good. Fuck him. Got what he deserved. There was no collateral damage, and no undo button. The effects were immediate too, as CEOs all over were running scared. Even the Five Guys CEO made a pitiful attempt to be better with that paltry bonus. But burn down a warehouse full of insured goods and innocent people? Stupid. The guy bought himself a bunch of jail time to effect no change. If you’re going to use violence, use it right.

This will have zero impact on the company. Insurance will pay out. Instead, a bunch of people are out of work. I understand the spirit of the message, but this won’t affect change and harms the wrong people.

Imagine how much better the world would be if he didn’t successfully dodge the draft. There’s a very real chance most of us wouldn’t even know his name…

There's a market for portable quick-to-deploy guillotines that can fit into the back of a Kia.

Makes about as much sense as Armageddon.

Pets don't belong either, especially not those stupid little purse goblins.

One side is close to breaking, and it doesn’t seem like it’s Iran.

I think they're setting up for a Smash Bros movie. They've been trying to introduce story into the games with each entry, and it would be an easy way to introduce a whole bunch of characters at the same time. This one already had - SPOILERS FOLLOW IF YOU CARE

Pikmin, Samus's gunship in the background, Fox, R.O.B., and Game & Watch.

The next one should use a new cast and setting, like a new campaign would. But they won't, and I don't blame them because I do really like the characters and would like to see more.

I was expecting "excuse me, do you have any grey poupon?"

Oh no I don’t mean to suggest it wouldn’t or couldn’t be water tight. I mean those tiny pores provide a place for bacteria to grow. But another commenter posted a link that suggests this is less of a concern than my old food safety training is telling me.

Heh, no. But sponges usually aren’t just their material. They often have antimicrobial additives. Plus… you know… soap. I’d be concerned about tiny bits of folding being left in the holder though, assuming it’s just PLA.

This probably *is* 3D printed, which is setting off alarm bells. PLA is porous, so wet environments like this become a breeding ground for nasty. On the other hand, the water this would come in contact with would typically be soapy, so that’s good. But I also don’t see any layer lines at all, making me think this might be acetone-smoothed ABS, which would be fantastic.

While those might be elbows next to her head, I think it’s a much safer bet those are her heels.

Yeah I can’t figure out what 35-40 is either.

I was certain it was AI music. But looking into it, nope, it’s human-produced generic slop.

Anybody else notice the guy on the right is done up to look exactly like the couch fucker? Same haircut, facial hair, suit…

There’s a 120db loudspeaker that I could wire to my camera system. My thought is should they ever knock on my door, I could have it blast something obnoxious, like that sound from Dumb and Dumber.

Actually, when I was trying to solve this problem, the Mistral API **DOES** have separate fields for input. You can give it separate system, user, assistant, and tool messages.

Well that was far more aggressive than I was expecting.

For decades programmers have been taught never to trust the user. Sanitize your inputs, or Bobby Tables will strike. Somehow AI bros haven’t figured this out.

I tried using Mistral for something, couldn’t figure out how to properly prevent this kind of attack, and was essentially laughed at by support. Was literally asked “why would you want to do that?”

BECAUSE IT’S COMPUTER SCIENCE 101 YOU FUCKING DOORKNOB!

They couldn’t give me a solution.

I was pricing out an upgrade. I put 64GB in my PCs and do actually use it. Cheapest 64GB (2x32) kit I could find was $800 USD. Most were over $1000.

Yeah I think I’ll wait longer.

I can’t help but think there’s a more graceful way to jump a fence than landing on your shoulder 3 times in 10 seconds.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Well no. AI is really good at classifying stuff. Give it a bunch of images that you have described to it, and it’ll learn the patterns. It can identify a hot dog because you’ve trained it what a hot dog looks like. But it takes millions or billions of data points, all properly described, to train a model.

Generative AI reverses the process. From a high level (I’m glossing over many details) it just creates random noise until that previous model says the noise matches your request.
