STab braking is simply STANDING on them for 3-4 seconds, bleeding off 20mph or so, then releasing and letting it coast back up.
This truck may not have had an engine brake, in which case you're supposed to 'stab brake'.
Easiest way to get brake fade in a CMV? Ride the brakes down a 7% mountain grade. You're supposed to use an engine brake to hold your speed.
It's called 'brake fade', and when it happens there is no amount of braking force you can apply that will get the brakes to work again.
What happens is the brake linings get hot, start producing gas, and that gas acts like a lubricant that drastically cuts friction.
Brakes on these trucks are really easy to burn up. The amount of energy they have to deal with is mind boggling.
It does make me wonder if that tupperware torpedo had a jake brake on it. 7% is steep but manageable for a standard 53 dry van on jake brake

1, mandatory voting would not have helped us here. Some people just don't give two shits and will tick whatever box gets them out of the fine. You're not improving the quality of elections by FORCING people to vote, merely fluffing turnout numbers.
