You can buy a 2 Watt blue laser for like $110. This burns pretty much everything from a distance. I got a 3W one a few years ago for like $170. You can find them on luck lasers (just Google). Shop looks dodgy, but the products are legit.
By "renewal" we do mean "replace". That's how you renew. There's no magic way to just extend the valability.

OK, I investigated: they changed the SSL Certificate on https://api.imgur.com/ last night, at 2:00 AM (UTC). Their apps now suddenly didn't recognize the new SSL Cert anymore. They seem to have pushed a new app version on Android a few minutes ago, and I can confirm it works. Older versions are dead though.
