Me with mass effect trilogy

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Final fantasy 7 and Zelda: Ocarina of time did that to me.

6 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Definitely Bioshock 3. That ending was a pure mindfuck. And then the DLCs... 'Would you kindly?'

6 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 2

Bioshock. My 12 year old brain took about a week to compute ‘would you kindly’

6 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 1

Kingdom Hearts for me.

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

This. Every time this. And every game

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bioshock

Mass effect for me

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Great game

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

A man chooses, a slave obeys!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Would you kindly play the Bioshock games again for me?

6 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

fuck love these games so cool, infinate fucked my head with the ending wasn't expecting it to be that deep

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

That reminds me of Subnautica.

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I actually felt a little homesick when I was preparing the Neptune for launch. "well.. it's been quite a journey...*looks at habitat sadly.*

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Every Elder Scrolls game

6 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

That was me with Life is Strange.

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Same. To this day one of the best games I've ever played.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Loved it. I listen to the soundtrack at least once a week.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The Mass Effect trilogy. I miss every character. Even you Vega, but I'll still never pick you.

6 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

Mordin Solus' redemption arc ;_;

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Dishonored. I love me a good revenge story, and that was the closest a game's ever got to The Count of Monte Cristo.

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

The sequel was also surprisingly good, IMO.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also, for similar reasons, Assassins Creed: Origins.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

This may sound strange but Portal 2 was the game that got to me when it ended. I needed Wheatley jabbering in my ear

6 years ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 0

Did for me with the 1

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That moment you're ascending that last elevator and it's finally dawning on you just how much you've gone through over the several hours 1/

6 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

So damn good

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

you've spent playing the last two games. It's how I imagine John McClain felt at the end of Die Hard. 2/2

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Deus Ex Human Revolution for me. Can our human conscience really deal with a cybernetic society?

6 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Very thought provoking - I just think your decisions in game should have locked you out of pressing certain buttons.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

and I think the ending shouldn't have been presented as buttons, but an automated sequence bason on those earlier decisions.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Agreed - the fact that it was ACTUAL LITERAL BUTTONS made it seem kind of cheap but it is hard to nail the endings in a game like that.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Halo 1-3

6 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Man I love halo. Reading those first few books made it so much more real and in depth too

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

yh those books add so much more story, love all the novels though

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Reach when the mission goal was "survive" and then the visor cracks...

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

one the best endings

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Chrono Trigger.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Ohhhh it has been a while, I think I need to dive into that again

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Started a replay of this yesterday - fun times ahead :D

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

4. Playing it again a month later but deepening the sadness when it just doesn't feel the same as before

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I keep seeing folks say they make re-playing a game a yearly tradition. I don't think I've ever played a story-driven game that doesn't 1/

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

bore me on a revisit. 2/2

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

the discovery of the story/world is to important for me. I tried replaying witcher 3 recently. But it's not the same when i know all already

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's weird, but like, with the fact that the ending of a game is no longer unexplored, I can never feel a yearning to go back.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah I agree. Games and books you still remember are just boring. You already know what's happening, what's the point?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I sincerely envy the folks who're like "I finished Link's Awakening 5 times last year". Like, I WISH I could enjoy a game that much.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can get playing certain games to get better times or harder difficulty but definitely not for the story over and over

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I feel like this when people have 1000's of hours in Skyrim and still enjoy the game. I couldn't get more than 30-40 hours out of it.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I never played Skyrim, but I'm 100% the player who'd stick to the main quest.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

6 years ago | Likes 80 Dislikes 0

I recently replayed it. That game was so ahead of its time

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh my god my nostalgia is at 15 right now....what have you done to me.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Hey! Listen!

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

110%, the greatest game ever made

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

I just stared at the fucking screen, while everybody was dancing at the farm..

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

How does breath of the wild compare I hear good things

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Finished bioshock infinite and burial at sea over christmas break for the first time. I’m still not over it.

6 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Love it

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That game didn't know when to stop giving me gut punches.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Playing them again 20 years later and they feel like new again.

6 years ago | Likes 579 Dislikes 3

I haven't been alive that long

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

I play through Shining Force every other year or so. A small game by today’s standards but so so fun.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I sure wish they did. It hurts to have a memory that kicks in the second it gets a catalyst and you can remember everything related to it→

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Like you've just experienced it.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Chrono trigger

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

GOAT for snes, maybe rpgs in general. It does feel smaller now, but then again I was smaller when I first found it.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In my top 3 for rpgs for sure. No question.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In this respect I am lucky to have a memory like a gnat. It takes me much less time. But in all other respects it stinks.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I still remember almost every ending of every book movie and game I ever saw... Sure I get some stuff wrong, but generally :(

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I just replayed ratchet and clank with my kids and it was awesome. “No you gotta go that way.” “Really?” “I promise you definitely do.”

6 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

My brother just got the new r&c for Xmas. We’ve played all of them. Not always at launch, but we always pick up the most recent

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

*got the latest r&c. It’s not exactly “new”

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I do miss the suggestive titles and humor of the earlier R&C games tho... they for sure shifted to a younger audience.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Playing FFX right now. Got the international version this time.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Recently went through and played all my old Nintendo Games. Pokemon black hit me like a sack of bricks.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Halo collection on Steam!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Skyrim.

6 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 4

Skyrim was my first game after a long hiatus since childhood. I still can feel how it felt to play everyday after work

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So, you know, back to back

6 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Its basically the same playthrough.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

20 years of sidequests, I'm in

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You're finally awake...

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Me right now lol I was stormcloak last time so I'm playing imperial and I didn't have the dlc last time I played so that's been fun

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I downloaded a new start mod where you skip the intro and have your own. I was a hunter in the woods when the dragon came.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yea, but the graphics suck

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

You only get like 3 of those, though.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

20 years?? In 2 months they feel new enough to enjoy again

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Dude, I played Xenoblade Chronicles 9 years ago. I still remember pretty much the entire game.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Working a bunch and playing 2-3 big sandbox quest games, I remember the major points, but forget enough to have fun.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Baldur’s Gate.

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Skyrim is shit compared to that.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is the game I wish I could wipe from my memory so I can play it fresh again

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Beamdog bought the rights a while back - bunch of new stuff and online multiplayer! https://www.beamdog.com/games/baldurs-gate-enhanced/

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And BG3 being made now (not by beamdog)

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My first playthrough of dark souls was amazing. All my other playthroughs are really fun as well but that first one goddamn.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

My third one was the best one. First one ended quickly in ragequit (old PC version w/o mods making it playable), second was way too 1/2

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

difficult to pay any attention to what is going outside the immediate battlescape. Third one was the charm. Challenging but I took my 2/3

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

time to put the pieces together and immerse myself into the lore. One of the best games ever. 3/3

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It becomes a different kind of fun. First playthrough had me cowering at every turn. Subsequent ones are for flipping that script.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My latest one I’ve just been backstabbing and parrying everything.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Riposting like you're on imgur!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is the way.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Alas, too many of my old favorites have not aged well (usually controls-wise). Also, I don't appear to have as much time & patience (1)

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

for the looooooong play sessions anymore. (2/2)

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The grind was real back in the day

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You can’t step in the same river twice.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

YOU LITERALLY CAN.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Wait...seriously?? Ive alway changed my bathub after the first use... *sigh...*

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The first Bioshock. That moment when I first saw Rapture through the window of the diving pod...damn, that gave me goosebumps.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Yessssssss

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A man chooses, a slave obeys!!!! Blew my mind I tingled at the end of that so many endorphins

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not 20 but like 10, master chief collection specifically halo3 campaign!

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Halo CE came out in ‘00 or ‘01. Time to start the whole series over

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

SAAAAME

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

black flag's end song....

6 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

The Parting Glass. I wish they would have released the version recorded for the game.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

that moment when he sees everyone at the table.... and know he will never see them ever again..just thinking about it still gives me shivers

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same with a book. Real investment in a narrative like in a good game or book comes with a price your heart pays forever.

6 years ago | Likes 1637 Dislikes 10

I have the same with the MCU

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 11

There's like an infinite number of comics to tide you over till they bring more out.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

After I finished the Harry Potter series, I wandered around the house not knowing what to do with myself

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Better to have love and lost then to never have loved.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Same thing can happen with a good anime. Hunter x Hunter gave me this, but it's a good re-watch at least :)

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I pay it gladly.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

YES. I'm in day 5 of a post-book-series fog. Called Ashfall. I finished it just before Taal started erupting, oddly.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The end of Tiny Tina's assault on dragon keep.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have a problem with this. I get to the end of a book or game and I just don't finish. Plus the knowledge that there is still content that

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I haven't explored yet kinda makes me feel good

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had the same experience when I finished breaking bad

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Similar thing with pets, when you word it like that

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

McCaffrey's original Dragons of Pern run had that impact on me. Robinton and AIVAS' death....the books that came after just felt...hollow.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Reread Stephen King's Insomnia again two years ago, I was just sitting in my car, crying. Beautiful ending.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The Name of the wind... Waiting for the 3rd book but also don't want it to come out because it means it'll be over for good

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

A leak said it is coming out 2020 august. Storm light book 4 is nov 17th.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There will be a book 4??? That would be so great!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

King killer is supposed to have other books in that universe. He can barely finish tho. Storm light is supposed to be 10 books

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Agreed! I just finished the Iron Druid series audiobook. When the final chapter finished... I said out loud "What am I gonna do now?".

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mercedes Lackey and R.A. Salvatore were amongst the very few who didn't leave me sad ... I just re-read them immediately xD

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I remember "The Mammoth Hunters". Got so pissed at one character that I threw the book against a wall when he fucked it up...yet again!

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Or a show, or film, anime, anything really.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Wheel of Time took me a while to recover from

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I still haven’t watched the last episode of Freaks & Geeks, can’t do it...

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Where the red fern grows

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But that’s the point, that’s why art is cool it allows peoplewe don’tknow to change the way we think forever, positiveor negatively youlet it

6 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

Oh, I totally agree.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I respect that you selectively deleted spaces to fit it into one comment

6 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Have any recommendations, I have been reading a lot of fantasy lately. I tell friends to read the best books last. Makes the good ones dull

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Reading through the other comments, I think there are a lot of great suggestions. Name of the Wind has been mentioned.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think I have read a lot of the big ones, most of Sanderson, name of the wind

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Indeed. I have to wait years in between rereads now for The Lord of the Rings, Wheel of Time, Sword of Truth, and the New Jedi Order.→

6 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Stories where the story moves you and you get really caught up in change you. They leave you chasing that emotional high.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My favorite part was mat coming into his own and his whole weird story. Perrin was a great story to hold through the nothingness that happen

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I hated Nyneave the first read-through fresh out of HS. When I red it again later, she became my favorite character.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dark Tower, should have listened to King and not read the end.

6 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

I started this series as a tween, when only the first 3 books were out. It's was a nearly lifelong journey to finish the series.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The end was the best part. It’s about the journey itself not the end. And he even sprinkles in the hope. Can’t get more profound.

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

At the time I remember being upset but years later I think I agree with you, although we may have to talk about your username.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have the last book sitting in the shelf for a year now, I think about it many times, almost have the courage to go and read the damn thing

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I liked the ending with or without the add on chapter. Both are good.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I just recently started reading books again, and I'm pretty happy knowing that there are 100s of great books that I haven't read yet.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

What have you been reading recently

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hitchhiker's Guide, Kingkiller Chronicles, The Expanse, The Lightbringer series, and I'm about to start on The Witcher.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have read king killer, and just finished lightbringer. I thought about the expanse and hitch hikers. Son of the black sword was good too

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would also recommend mistborn and way of Kings. Brandon Sanderson is the best Fantasy author out rn in my opinion.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can fully say that you are right. I read Good Omens again, finishing it was sad...

6 years ago | Likes 82 Dislikes 1

The movie “inkheart” expresses this. When I’m immersed, I become a character, and then snap back to me at the end. It’s jarring

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just recently read Good Omens, absolutely love the book and show.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Honestly, this is kinda why I stopped reading.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Me too! After Robert Jordan passed and The Wheel of Time series was finished off, I couldn’t seriously read a book>

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Read Brandon Sanderson. He finished wheel of time. I would start with mistborn then read way of Kings

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

for years! I just started a series (by the author that completed WOT for Jordan) and I feel free again. Finally.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Brandon Sanderson? What are you reading rn

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

KOTOR 1 and 2, the crushing reality that there won't be a third.

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

The SWTOR has a solid story, set 300 years after KOTOR. Wouldn't recommend to play full mmo but the class leveling storys are alright.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Like 'Shadow of the Colossus' when you realize you are the bad guy...and your beloved horse dies

6 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

Spoiler alert!

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

At first I was like "yeah, don't ruin it" and then I wondered how long it's been and...ouch.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

[EXTRA SPOILER ALERT] One of my only gripes with that whole game is that that death's a fakeout. I can't think of anything bringing Agro 1/

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

back does for the story or emotions, that bringing Momo back doesn't do already. Except perhaps the implication that Momo doesn't 2/

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

recognise Agro and might therefore not know who Wander is. 3/3

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That was me, with Mass Effect. Though the crushing realization took way longer until it got to me.

6 years ago | Likes 356 Dislikes 8

Half life Episode 2

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The farewell from Garrus on EArth is especially heartbreaking. Damn I miss this series.

6 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

For me it was especially ME2. It really hit home how great it was when in ME3 everyone was gone from the Normandy... :(...

6 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I need to get around to playing that someday. Kinda peeved 3 isn't available on Steam, but 1 and 2 are.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same. I still get The Feels when I hear "An End, Once and For All".

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

And it hurt even worse after Andromeda came out

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Mass Effect was magnificent.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah i stayed up till 3am finishing it despite getting up at 6am for work... literally spent the entire shift dreaming about it, blown away.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I like the red one...

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Bioshock Inifintes ending blew my mind.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Came here for Mass Effect. The greatest game in the history of everything. THE ENDING WAS FINE. We got the Citadel DLC, which was divine.

6 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 3

Just having a character monologue that everything they broke is now fixed is not good writing it is intellectually insulting.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Best times of my life were spend on that ship. It's been a damn good ride.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The best

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Metal Gear Solid 3 did it for me. I cry every time I replay it.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

best game on the ps2. amazing story

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The end song tho. "Ohhhhh, I've got something in my throat. I need to be alone, while i suffer..."

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That salute tho... WHO PUT THESE TEARS IN MY EYES

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is super cringey, but I legit felt real loss about my squad and my romance. Tbf, I was alone in college at the time.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I still cry over Mordin and Thane.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I still replay that trilogy at least once a year..

6 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 1

i do this too, feels nice to remember as you play, amazing game especially 2

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Same, friend. Dragon Age as well.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Same, with the first one. Sat back and let the credits roll and that song just wash over me. Truly blown away by that one. Great song too.

6 years ago | Likes 62 Dislikes 0

https://youtu.be/sUKiOcV1SSc M4 Part II by Faunts

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I love this song so much, thanks!

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have the entire trilogy's soundtrack on vinyl, and each vinyl is a different color. Amazing.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But the ending of mass effecr 3. God damn it. Almost like GoT

6 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 14

I came back much later and played with all the DLCs. The end went from barely passable to a slow, wrenching heartbreak. /2

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The Citadel DLC was a standout. Felt like you were really saying goodbye to everyone before your inevitable deaths, and the end of the game.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

No argument though that the original end was sadly botched. Should have just taken the time to release the extended one in the first place.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yo dawg I heard you don't want to be killed by synthetics. So I made some synthetics to kill you so you won't be killed by synthetics.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It was so much worse, for me. The dev reaction, especially. Calling fans entitled, saying we just didn't "get it". Banning people on forums.

6 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 3

Because you didn't get it.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

They eventually released the Extended Cut - which is really just polishing a turd - but did so with the attitude of "well since some of >

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

> you people don't get the brilliance of our ending, you can have this". I'm still not over it. I can't get that invested in a game again.

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

"Choose the color of your ending!" No good confrontation. No good realization. Just "AI cycles, lawl" and then...fuck.

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

Apparently there was some scrapped idea where they were being used as massive super computers to deal with some dark matter doomsday problem

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

They integrate the best civs into themselves to continue to work on it. They chose humanity to be next.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The ULTIMATE decision, and the biggest punch in the gut, ever, would have been to decide whether to kill them, wiping all of their progress

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

RIP marauder shields. He tried to save us from the ending. Greatest final boss battle ever.

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I am one of the few that liked it (with incorporation of the Leviathan DLC).

6 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 1

I still have to go back and play it with the DLCs. How many are there anyways?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There are 5 for single player. https://www.ign.com/wikis/mass-effect-3/DLC#Single-player_DLC

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The Citadel DLC is worth it. You get these extra moments with your crew that are worth it, and it has some great humor in it. 1/2

And it kind of redeems the ending a bit. 2/2

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the dlc does make a difference plus the extended ending you can download gives it a decent ending

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Don't get me started.

6 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

While some of the Catqlyst stuff was... meh. The Symbiosis ending fit perfectly to my playthrough. I was quite happy with that...

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It was frustrating that their claims of all the choices you made along the way affecting the ending came down to the same 3 options...

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

...for an ending. But I also thought the Symbiosis option made sense in the context of preserving life while stopping the Reaper threat.

Fking Witcher 3 man. The duchess died, felt like I failed her

6 years ago | Likes 97 Dislikes 6

You did. Play it again and do better! :)

6 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

She lived for me!!! I retired in my villa with Yen

6 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

Triss here.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I didn't end up with her dead. It's definitely a game I will play again, even though the other new ones are stacking up.

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I lost 100 hours in that game to a corrupted save, never tried again.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I did everything that a guide said to keep her alive and she still died. I feel you on that one, man.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't spoil

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 13

If you haven't played it by now, you probably never will.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

I will, I don't spend a lot of time, so I just play praised games a couple of years after. I'm not alone http://reddit.com/r/patientgamers

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's literally been 4 years since the DLC referenced here came out

1) Maybe you should avoid the comment sections of popular games? Especially given the recent popularity of The Witcher books, games and

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2) Series? Totally understand you being busy, but Witcher 3 is an astonishingly good game. My favourite game of the 2010's. You'll love it!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It came out in 2015. Lol. That's like spoiling the end of Avenegers: Age of Ultron, which also came out in 2015. You should play it already

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I will, I don't spend a lot of time, so I just play praised games a couple of years after. I'm not alone http://reddit.com/r/patientgamers

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Spoiling a movie, a book, whatever, can strip someone his pleasure of discovery, just think about it and avoid it if you can.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

On one hand, yeah - on the other hand, spoiling one possible outcome of one part of a game doesn't seem like it'd cause much issue.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

its not a locked in ending, there are multiple outcomes to every major story in that game.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

1) I don't actively spoil - it's a dick move. But there's got to be some sort of reasonable time limit. We surely can't go through life

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2) Avoiding discussions because people haven't read a book or watched a film?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For me, The last of us.

6 years ago | Likes 403 Dislikes 13

Shit the first 15 minutes of last of us

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yes that games ending was so good and sad at the same time why jol why

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dark Souls series.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ooof

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same. I’m not a huge gamer & this was one of the first games I finished. Nothing really seems to hold up in comparison. Open to suggestions

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Easily game of that year.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The story had me fucked up for hours

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Secret of Mana for me...

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same here

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2/3

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Undertale, every single time. Although Lisa is fucking me up too but I'm not done with it yet.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Same. Undertale.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You might want to check on Deltarune.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have it downloaded but I'm in the middle of my first dark souls run right now, so I'm a BIT busy

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Something about Ni No Kuni did this to me. Nothing will ever quite give me that same sense of whimsy

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I haven’t played it yet but my wife strongly disliked it.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not for everybody ♀️

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yea. We play a lot of RPGs but she said she just felt like she wasn’t ‘getting’ something with it

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Was just about to comment that.

Metal Gear Solid 3 for me.

Great Gif Choice ?? ?

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Well they're making a second one

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

An unnecessary second one, but a good looking second one, nonetheless

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wouldn't call it unnecessary. I felt like a sequel was warranted a while ago after what happened at the end of the first one

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Life Is Strange for me

6 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 2

I felt bad for that town I murdered.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Bae over the Bay, man. Bae over the Bay.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Look my options were lesbians or a town of assholes.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've been tempted to buy a ps top play it

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That game gave me chills so many times (after episode 3)

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I had to walk out of the room while my bf played the scene where the guys are saying all that creepy shit. =(

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

For what felt like a true innovation was Heavy Rain, been a gamer since year dot and that blew me away.

6 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

I remember when this came out. I really wanted to play it but never got around to it. I'll definitely check it out soon.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

SHAUN!!!!

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Damn bro. I've been a gamer since year dash. Crazy world

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you like Heavy Rain I strongly suggest Detroit: Become Human. Same studio did both

6 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

DBH was amazing! I was teary eyed through many of my ill planned choices

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I never got too far in DBH, but I found out you can access a gun in the beginning. I shot Todd's stupid face as soon as I could.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Nier: Automata

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I'm playing it right now, honestly gameplay is fun but the fact that literally everyone is suicidal turns me off

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I liked this one, i think just because of how massively confusing and complex they mde it, a lot of "OHHHH" moments.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Okami

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I would pay so much to play it again for the first time

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's just as good the second time! I played it when it came out and then again last year. Amazing game up until the very end.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I LOVE that game, top 3 games I've ever played. But the ending felt like they ran out of money to me.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Bio shock infinite

6 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

I was just watching my fiance play this like an hour ago and it looked/looks very very good.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Was a great story, with a good twist at the end!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I jumped up from my chair and screamed at the monitor when the final reveal happened. Don't really know what it is anymore. Time to replay.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It proper surprised me, just remember shouting no at the tv when it happened

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Have to disagree with you there. I'm probably in a minority there but I feel the last of us is massively over rated in terms of its story

6 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 31

Agreed. It's subjective, but I never felt like it lived up to its hype or potential. It was generically good, not great.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Nah I also thought it was massively overrated in terms of story. We’re out here.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

You are correct about being in the minority. It was just voted PlayStation’s “Game of the Decade”. You must just have a different taste in

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

games, like.. maybe Madden and WWE and COD. No problem with that.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Certainly is a problem with madden, WWE and cod my friend! I like dark souls, binding of Issac's, Undertale. And being top rated ps game...

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Doesn't really mean much, as of course PS is gonna have a widely liked ps exclusive as it's top game.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're overrated in terms of story

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Maybe I am. Then again I've never rated my story very highly, just like to think of myself as a fairly standard story.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just finished it last week and I have to agree. Didn't really affect me much. Great game, nevertheless.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

I'm also wondering, what rubbed you the wrong way in the story? What game does have a good story according to you? What did you take away?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's my point I guess, I took nothing away from it. Maybe the hype coloured my opinion from the start. I lost sympathy with a guy who was

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mowing down people without batting an eye lid. It's doesn't show the characterization of a man struggling with the actions he's taking.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hmm, ok. I had another experience. I found a man that did everything and anything he needed to survive after his daughter died, who had to

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Spec of the line is an exemplar of this type of character progression.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But everyone is different! So if you loved the game I say we give high fives all round no matter what!

6 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

The story isnt very good. However, the character interaction and progression is what I believe people appreciate.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Not many games make me cry but last of us gets me several times, everytime I play it.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fair point

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can I ask what games you think have great stories? For me Last of Us had a great story and gameplay.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

It's a fair question, if I was to pick my top games ever it would be dark souls, half-life, witcher 3 and portal

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

One more, spec ops the line. Now that's a story that sticks with you

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’m not the same guy, though I also thought the story was meh. HZD probably had my favorite story.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

That game was amazing, gotta ask, is it the story itself? Or the setting? Because many I know like both HZD and LOS equally much story wise.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But I really did like the story itself. I thought it was an interesting take on the apocalypse. And when Faro did the thing, I hurt.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But when talking I hear more about some liking the setting of HZD better since it is original, while LOS is a zombie-ish centric game.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I liked the setting because I live in Colorado. Was fun to visit red rocks at the Air Force academy chapel.
