#7 I love that he’s using the circular breathing technique. I don’t think I’ve ever seen as clear a visual example of it.

…oh yeah- and that MFer can PLAY!

#6 Definitely like the triple flute better, because she used it to break into the multiverse for a second there. Say hi to Loki for me!

#1 She must be atleast 30 to 35 years old now, that clip is so old

Lots of great music and musicians here, laughing in the face of people who say there's no good music out there these days. True, it's no longer spoon fed to us. It requires a bit of searching, but it's certainly out there.

Meris pedals are dope and I want most of them.

1 year ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I have a Mercury7 :)

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The Polymoon is at the top of my list, but the Mercury7 is right behind it. It's just pretty lame that I need to buy a separate plastic overlay for their pedals :/

Do you know the OP? It would be nice to update this. A bunch of the links have been taken down and it's a little frustrating trying to find the specific tracks from the screen captures. Adding Band and Track name would be much appreciated. :)

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No, sorry :(
I will have a look tomorrow and see if i can get you new uploads for the missing tracks

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A bit late to answer: you can copy the URL and paste it fully into google and chances are high you'll see the trackname because someone posted it on a forum or somewhere else.
For example I can tell you the first failing link is "jam and spoon right in the night, second is fatboy slim rockafeller skank.
Hope this helps ;)

#13 Squidward WISHES he could play clarinet like that.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Squidward isn't very good, but he keeps at it. He's kind of a low key role model when you think about it.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So anyways, thanks to you, I have now purchased a jaw harp (the boing instrument).

why I've dated three music teachers (maybe four, but three come to mind). I have a type. Musicians fascinate me w/ their magical abilities.

I personally have NO rhythm and I'm almost tone deaf so to me it is like magic.

Same. My late (choir teacher) used to tease me about that: "Maybe we should adopt."

#7 This is called circular breathing. You use your cheeks to push the air in your mouth out while breathing in so you can play as long as a note as you want.

The hard part is keeping the air steady as you swap from normal exhalation to using your cheeks and back again.

Man’s got a happy wife

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Aborigines did it first

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Bang on - Australian Aboriginal people mastered circular breathing playing didgeridoo… it’s amazing to watch considering the volume of air that needs to be used to make those things sing. (And not having a dig, cause no one knows until they do, but we don’t use that word anymore in Australia. Aboriginal people or First Nations people mate! Trust me, a large percentage of our population need more education than this, so don’t sweat it. Come visit some time - aside from the racists it’s awesome!)

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Psh we have plenty of our own racists here in the usa... in fact I'll give you a few, free of charge. Swing by, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think there’s a trade tariff in place on racists isn’t there?

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And not changing the shape/pressure of your lips so that the note doesn't change pitch! Steady pressure mostly affects the volume. Trilling like he is there probably helps cover up small fluctuations in both volume and pitch.

It is incredibly difficult to do, and idk that I've ever seen a trumpet player do it. I have seen someone do it on a tuba, though!

1 year ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 0

I learned to do it when I played tuba!!! That guy in #7 tho is some of the most impressive circular breathing I’ve ever seen

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Learned how to in my younger years. Easy to practice with a glass of water to get a feel for pushing the air/water out using just the force of your cheeks.

Doing it more than like once or twice in a row though... jeebus

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

The lady with the clarinet in #13 also has to do this to be able to hold the note at the end for this long

1 year ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Her name is Doreen Ketchens, and she is an incredible musician! - https://www.doreensjazz.org/

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You can catch her in the French quarter in New Orleans pretty much any weekend! I think her usual spot is near the Rouse’s on Royal Street

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

yeah she's badass

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thanks, added it!

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#20 A lot of these are cool but this one was genuinely great.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I think you might not be appreciating the talent and art in the others.. try again.. from the top

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a musician of 30+ years, who has seen true talent and played a lot of pieces that take talent to play, I can tell you that "talent," musicianship, and technicality ALWAYS play a very distant second fiddle to how much the music inspires the listener. That is the only thing that actually matters. I liked that bass clip the most. I don't have to explain it, actually I don't even have to know why I like it the most, I just do. So please take your condescension and pretentiousness and shove it.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Oh, sorry, didn't realise you had such amazing credentials. I stand corrected then, most of these must just be average then. My noob brain mistakenly thought the Beethoven guitar solo, the trumpet, the rapper, etc were in fact pretty fantastic. Thanks for clarifying. I'll get back in my monotone-ous box

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I didn't say anything about the other performances being "average." Get it through your thick skull that music is not a competition to be won by the most technically difficult or complex piece. I liked that bass video the most because it resonated with me and moved me the most. End of story. Maybe one day you'll grow up, but for now I'm sorry you can't handle someone on the internet having a different opinion than yours.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1
