Eight million of you showed up today.
People filled 3,300 events across all 50 states and around the world, with 200,000 in Minneapolis, where Bruce Springsteen performed "Streets of Minneapolis" about the two Americans ICE killed there in January. People marched because gas is up a dollar a gallon in one month, grocery prices keep climbing, and financial markets are reeling from a war nobody voted for.
No one expects any single day of protest will create change. That's why today needs to be the continuation, not the finale. The war the United States started a month ago has already spread across eight countries. Today, 2,500 Marines arrived in the region. Reporting from multiple outlets says American ground forces will invade Iran. The midterms are important, but that's too long to wait for change.

I wonder, since the TSA employees are expected to work without pay, could they instead just take Leave Without Pay?
I mean, the idea is that they’re going to get paid for all the hours they’ve put in during the shutdown once funding happens, I know.
But work without pay vs leave without pay? I’d rather have leave if those are the two choices.

This is worse. It's one thing for the FBI to "reopen" an investigation just 7 days prior to an election, then close it 3 days later with "oops, we didn't find anything." Comey committed election interference. He got away with it because of all the noise from the Trump criminal enterprise.

I was at one of the rallies yesterday in my rural town of upstate NY. I want to tell you all that I saw the big loud "rolling coal" trucks who voted for the orange menace were there with massive F*CK TR*MP signs. Hopefully the groundswell continues.

I've gone to five rallies in my smallish Midwestern city, and while we are still getting thumbs down and big dumb stinky trucks (I wanted to snap photos of their license plates, as that is assault, but they were just smelly, not clouds of black smoke this time...maybe too cold still?) the proportion of thumbs up and tooting horns was higher than the thumbs down. That was good to see!

But they do care, that's why they're trying to label protesters as "domestic terrorists", and trying to downplay the protests as insignificant. I do realize that it hasn't changed legislation YET, but every little bit is chipping away at his confidence (hence all the waffling on the war) and it's pulling his base away as well. There's already plans for an economic stoppage on May Day. That will be notable as well!
