Hard to believe at times when people have genuinely eaten less calories and still don't lose weight. Because burning calories isn't burning fat, which is what most of us are trying to do. Muscle growth burns fat
It's way way more involved than calories. I can eat salad for a month and not lose any weight.

It sure sounds like you got scammed into what is called a vanity publisher, which are terrible, awful people who should be smacked. A true publisher wouldn't have you deal with your cover art. They would take care of hiring the artist to do your cover. You would just have to work on the writing fixes the true editor requested. Otherwise you don't do much about the book itself. The publishing company takes care of it.Sorry to hear it, but self-publishing really is a bitch. I hate it.
