Same! It's so weird how it has never come up before, especially when I can't seem to avoid hearing his husband run his stupid mouth, even though I'm making an actual conscious effort to do so.

Ohhhhhh, right! Clearly it's been too long. Thank you :)

My friend doesn't understand the connection to Planescape: Torment.

...

It's me. The "friend" is me. I'm feeling really ignorant.

I've always loved the combination of cloth and armour. There's something about chain and plate mail draped with all sorts of cloaks, capes, sashes, tabards and surcoats that gives the design that extra wow factor.

A lot of the branding you see in GTA5 has varying degrees of innuendo, double-entendres, references, satire, or commentary.

Some examples: Pißwasser beer, 69 Brand cigars, Caca clothing, Bean Machine coffee shops, Penris banks, Guido Zenitalia clothing, Beat Off headphones, GoPostal mail services, DP electronics, Queefstat electronics, Lifeinvader social media platform, Pfister automobiles, Post OP courier services, etc...

I don't think I did. It left enough of a mark that I steered clear of the story for years, until I watched it again some years back. Grown-up me had a very different reaction of mostly "Oh, okay." ;)

I'm sorry, but I don't believe for a second that any of the enablers will ever see any actual repercussions and consequences for their complicity, especially with the Democrat leadership having proven themselves to be the most timid, toothless opponents the MAGA cult could've ever hoped for.

I let it grow for around 2 years between donations, so I'll still have enough hair left for me to put up afterwards. I don't actually know the precise lengths required, but it gets to around the small of my back in the 2-ish years. The longer the better, of course, because the hair has to be trimmed and such before it's used on a wig.

Same here. It's getting around that time for me to do my bi-yearly donation as well. It's nice to do it for the summer, so there's less hair to deal with in the heat.

Aside from Storm, I reckon she could rock the absolute shit out of a cosplay of Samara from Mass Effect.

It's this weak attempt at a gotcha combined with the desperate need for some people to get upset at things. I'm constantly reminded of this thing... over 8 years on and nothing has changed.

Oh, btw. This is the trailer in question: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuCejewteF8

Not gonna lie, you need to have some pretty serious sensitivity issues if this caused "disgust." Also, no mention of telling someone to go die in a fire or to off themselves either, but hey, who among us hasn't made up shit in order to find an excuse to be outraged over something, eh? Mario _does_ say Bowser's painting is trash, so I guess the pearls truly deserve some pretty serious clutching :)

Can't have been that shocking if you can't even remember what the supposedly offending lines were...

Btw, Samus being referred to as male in the manual was intentional to make the reveal in the end a bigger surprise. In the Japanese manual, they go out of their way to use "kare" (the Japanese equivalent for he/him) a few times, even though pronouns aren't used in Japanese very often. In other words, it would've been super easy to write the Japanese manual without any indication of her gender, but they chose to use male pronouns.

I know, right? I had to make a conscious effort to ignore the quotes to follow what Ritchie was saying in the clip.

The Irish have had to tolerate piss-poor attempts at Irish accents by actors (Tommy Lee Jones in "Blown Away" and Tom Cruise in "Far and Away" come to mind), that Pitt doing something that sounds fun and natural won't annoy anyone. Hell, none of the Irish people I know ever get genuinely upset at stuff like that, but things like bad accents are almost always met with laughter and ridicule instead of getting pissy. "It's a bit of craic!"

Outside of the potential translation gaffes regarding pronouns, the original Japanese Doki Doki Panic manual says Birdo is a male, who "thinks he is a girl" and would "rather be called Cathie." This carried over to the English Super Mario 2 manual, where the name was changed to "Birdetta."

Honestly, all I'm seeing are two naturally funny guys taking a bit and running with it, "yes, and"ing each other. Probably bored to tears by the whole press junket thing, so they're desperate for any sort of distraction.

Gather around, children! This is a rare treat! Behold, the numb-skulled music purist! They were initially thought to have gone extinct in the late-90s after music production went mostly digital, but every once in a while, a rare specimen pops up.

Be very quiet; the numb-skulled music purist is easily startled by any sound it thinks might be digitised. Worst case scenario, it goes on a rant on an audiophile forum as a result.

It's in that territory for sure, but if we were to be super pedantic, an NFT would be more like buying a piece of paper with the address of a Chinese warehouse the cufflinks are sitting in.

And the reason for that is that the secondary rainbow is formed by the light bouncing twice inside the droplet rather than once. Theoretically speaking, all rainbows are doubles, but the secondary bow is often faint enough to not be clearly visible to the naked eye.

This might come as a bit of a shock, but people have different tastes and preferences; there's no universal consensus of what looks good and what doesn't.

^ This! Fuckin' THIS! A lot of people are so focused on efficiency and what they personally deem unnecessary that the idea of taking pride in work like this is completely foreign to them.

Aye, just calling it that immediately clears any doubt as to what kind of people are behind it.

The fun bit about English is that it's super easy to "verbify" words, so I'm gonna be barefooting when summer comes :)

Same reason as why most of the world don't wear shoes at home and why Americans do, aka. what people are accustomed to :)

I'm barefoot at home for most of the year. Only when the temps outside hit -20°C or thereabouts does it tend to get nippy enough that I start reaching for the socks and slippers :)

It seems you conveniently omitted the part, where said "muslim terrorist" is a former Delta Force operator, whose motivations are for the US to stop supporting the dictatorships in Muslim countries and to also withdraw US forces from said countries.
