Oh My! *Such* security!! So any idiot (normal user) who doesn't know what a location service is will leak locations any time. And what makes you think using a VPN would help? The app is recording a GPS location and sending it to the server where it is made public. But at least the data was secure in transit!

That's because the TV ad for this car had the *hottest* model ever. Besides, looks better than the Nissan Leaf, and I bought one of those (for my wife).

I shudder to think of the sort of AlphaStructural photo this will be applied to. :-) But then, it's a rare post of yours that *doesn't* make me scream in denial at least once.

There are times when being reckless is the safest thing to do. This is the kind of shit that happens when your goal is bigger than your life.

On the first PCs we got at work, I renamed a co-worker's hard drive to 'overheating', so whenever DOS booted it reported "Hard drive is overheating". OK. Yeah, I'm old.

It's just f*ckin' amazing that people simply don't get what the title means. Hint: They are not men on the lookout. Dr. Manhattan tells you what it means.

Somehow I misread this week's title as "structural embarrassments".

Thanks. I didn't care enough to bother with it.

You can always tell because the floor joists run across it, not parallel to it.

I just stopped in to see how quickly someone had posted "and a-one and a-two".

No, that is *not* how brains work. Humans rationalize, and reject all 'data' that doesn't match their pre-conceptions. They'll accept any argument that confirms that, and when one 'reason' is disproved they'll latch onto the next one offered. People *can* learn critical thinking and question what they are told, but most never get that far.

Looks like the inside of a cement kiln. The chains break up the slurry as it dries. The kiln rotates constantly so the chains are always moving. The clumps of dried slurry slowly roll down the long kiln towards the fire at the other end. All the water is driven off producing red-hot klinker. The klinker is ground in a ball mill producing cement -- the gray powder you mix with sand and gravel to make cement.

Got all her moves from watching movies. Swings her foot up slowly and turns around. The white girl put no effort into that KO, because why bother? Timing and accuracy were enough. Her whole body language says "whatever".
