We're literally seeing that same playbook play out now, that caused him to ruin so many businesses before- constantly change focus, neglect maintenance, pile up debt with no repayment planned, start fights with vendors/customers/partners and insist on humiliating concessions. Bankruptcy was never the plan, it's just what happens when you're fucking bad at business.

It's the bit that was EDITED IN, over the already Kojima-standard hyperliteralism of the game. The cubs hat is an American team, but if Kojima had wanted it there, it would be there, and it's not. Whoever edited it in just doesn't seem to understand what they're working with.

I'd just like to point out that the Japanese play a lot of baseball too. It hasn't been a 'weird American sport' there for at least a generation.

I think we're all stuck in the Before Times where the President of the US would have to approve any statements issued by his 'official' media channels. We're not ready to deal with a world where POTUS wouldn't even know if someone is making statements on his behalf and no one has made any preparations for the consequences of any statements, made by Trump or otherwise.

There's a real tension in ST about whether we'd all be 'perfect', or if we'd simply be much more understanding of differences. Like Picard's baldness.

I feel like there is just a specific period in the early internet, we can call it the Winamp era but I'm sure there are other appropriate names, just before it became the place where corporations controlled everything. If you paid for access to the net to begin with, the amount you could get *for free* without ads, without even committing piracy, was truly amazing. Also I was a teenager so of course I'm nostalgic for it.

They clearly have sufficient schools for the US to *bomb those schools*.

So, like Ukraine, it's a 'Special Military Operation' that will require everything a War does but somehow doesn't require a formal declaration. If the US makes it out the other side of this, we need to abolish the majority of our standing army. Not only will we not be able to afford it, but the president shouldn't have the capacity to start fighting a war without a discussion in congress.

Calling him Spigot Head is nasty work and I'm 100% here for it.

I'd genuinely prefer that too, but humans are fluid. We don't necessarily belong in our container, but we do take the shape of it while we're there.

They don't care about sexual predators unless those predators are from a demographic they already disliked. Many of their children will someday testify to that.

The US spends more than $60 BILLION a year on 'supplements' that in many cases do nothing and contain nothing. 'Snake oil salesman' is a commonly understood term despite being extremely old. Maybe if you're not from the US you get to throw stones at China, but Americans are in a glass McMansion.

Monocolor sliver isn't impossible, it ramps up a lot faster but hits the ceiling way sooner. Green sliver monocolor works like most green monocolor decks, you get bigger creatures faster than the other guy. You just don't have the full snowballing that happens if you add even a second color, let alone all five.

If you're not here to argue or debate, you don't get to tell me I'm wrong. That's not how discussion works, *asshole*.

The French got bloodied in Vietnam before the US got involved, the British are holding Hong Kong against the PRC's wishes and they're still holding a grudge for the Opium trade. Germany has the ties and the history but not the capability at that time. The US was basically the only plausible partner I can think of that offered an alternative to the USSR, but I'm willing to hear any alternatives you can make a solid argument for.

Ok, so when they say 'only Nixon could go to China', they weren't talking about whether China was open to reforms, they were talking about Nixon having the policy latitude to partner with an openly Communist nation. Humphry wouldn't have even considered it, he's already being accused of Communism for his domestic policies. So, the question is more WHO China would have eventually started working with. There aren't a lot of colonial powers in the 70's that China would consider working with.

We don't remember losers, but looking into the Nixon vs. Humphrey election, Nixon just barely pulled out a win. If Humphrey had done just slightly better, he'd have won, the civil rights movement would have been vindicated, and of Nixon's accomplishments, ending the Vietnam war and starting the EPA would have been the only ones to survive. Almost certainly China wouldn't have opened up, which is debateably positive for the US.

...Aren't they already? But they can only take so much from any source before there's no dumb money left to extract and they're going to take as much as possible, as quickly as possible. They're not known for their patience or wise stewardship, they're exactly the people who would butcher the goose laying the golden eggs.

Ukraine 'sanctioned' it back again, destroying a major Russian export depot. If there's another hit to the oil supply we're in truly uncharted territory.

Maybe that's how this finally ends? The rubes are bled dry and all the conservative grifters have to find another line of work to pay the bills. Some of the worst are true believers in various horrible things but if the rest are just in it for the money, they're not going to stick around after the well goes dry.

It is a scam, but Republicans have gotten their flock so scared of socialism and communism that we're unable to even have a regulated and fair insurance system like Germany's, let alone a single payer healthcare system.

The problem is I'm not sure how you'd even go about proving the yodeling without a time machine to go back and listen, but none of the things you listed are even particularly far fetched.

I don't have a lot of hunting experience, and I'd be nervous about hunting one of those with the .308 bolt action due to how little room for error there is. Nevermind the pistol cartridges.

I'm pretty sure the 'gun ad' is AI and if not someone needs to get fired. Length of pull and feed system are stated but the column next to them contains completely different information. The cartridges aren't even described but whatever is on the lefthand side of the moose/bear lineup, should not be aimed at a moose or bear except in dire necessity.

I've had people ask for a rematch with the other arm most of the time I've done arm wrestling, so the question is social- do you keep entertaining it's requests for a rematch seven additional times, each sadder and more desperate than the last?

Rogan gave himself a reputation as a partisan media, through his own deliberate action. I agree she would have benefited a lot from going on regardless, any amount of his audience she could influence would have mattered, but the advisor wasn't crazy to note he was definitely not neutral.

Alex Jones is the template for this shittiness- he's lost multiple court cases, and still hasn't paid for accusing the students at Sandy Hook of being actors and the shooting being fake. Textbook defamation, against private citizens, that no reasonable person would believe was justified, and he still hasn't paid. The system is broken in his favor.
