This is my public bio. It is fun.
I’m one of the most stringently anti-gun people you’ll find but this policy is fucking stupid. At best it will be absolutely ineffectual, and at worst it will have unexpected and unintended negative consequences while STILL being completely incapable of meaningfully preventing gun crime (because it doesn’t do anything to actually reduce the number of real guns in the US).
This was a manned test flight of the SLS rocket and Orion capsule. It’s a follow-up to Artemis 1 which was an unmanned test flight. There were four crew members aboard Artemis II. Their mission lasted nine days, wherein they flew to the moon, achieving a greater distance from the earth than any other humans before (past missions to the moon did not go as far past it). Data from this mission will lead to fine tuning and design changes for subsequent missions.
They look like candy!
Describing Hooke as the guy who coined the term “cell” and not the guy who figured out Hooke’s Law is a wild storytelling choice. Granted, I’m an engineer, so maybe I have more affinity for Hooke’s law than cells.

Elephants in a hatchback? No, absolutely not. They prefer a car with a lot of trunk space.
Never allowed to drive ANYTHING - they’re clearly a danger to themselves and anyone else on the road if their judgement is so piss poor.

So, think about how bright the full moon is. Then recognize that that brightness is from thousands of kilometres away, AND attenuated through Earth’s atmosphere. Imagine being MUCH closer, and having far less air (with all the dust and clouds and various light-absorbing gases that it contains) being in the way. And then beyond that, it’s just simple photography - set your exposure settings appropriate to the lighting on your subject.
Plus, with neither wind nor water, the dusty lunar regolith doesn’t get redistributed across the surface.
You know you’re never more than six feet from a spider. *Never*. Not even on mercury.
There are different names for each of the translations and rotations on each axis.

Because most people baking a cake are just following a recipe and not doing any experimentation to learn what ingredients have what impact. But there is absolutely a discipline called Food Science and it involves researching recipes and ingredients and flavours and preservatives and nutrition and all kinds of things related to how food is made and enjoyed.
“The rockets worked perfectly, they were just aimed at the wrong planet.” -Werner Von Braun
And to top it all off, someone took a shit in the book return slot. Again.
It’s not that it’s off-center, it’s the there’s a spot where you can see through her hair to sky/coast/water/whatever-it’s-something-blue where instead it would seem that you should be seeing her neck. Definitely smells more of photoshop than of AI.
#12 the middle right option should have been “I should go.”
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; best part of playing BroShep: romancing Tali; best part of playing FemShep: romancing Garus; best part of romancing neither of them: them romancing each other.
It holds up incredibly well.
Rome wasn’t built in a day, and you don’t establish a lunar colony or a mission to mars all at once. This was a test flight, ensuring that various components and systems are working and the crew is safe, which allows us to take another step forward with the next Artemis mission. The Apollo program didn’t land on the moon until Apollo 11. It’s an iterative, incremental process.
Pain heals, chicks dig scars, glory lasts forever!
Ghostbusters* Thanks, autocorrect.
Ghost users 2 is such a strange film to me. I love so many individual elements of it, but the overall film just doesn’t work so well. It’s the rare case of something that is LESS than the sum of its parts.
Fun fact: if the music sounds familiar, that’s because it’s a very clear and blatant statement of the Dies Irae, a musical phrase dating back hundreds of years used throughout operas, ballets, movies and tv shows to symbolize death. Here’s a fantastic podcast on the subject; https://www.iheart.com/podcast/105-the-soundtrack-show-29021108/episode/doom-and-gloom-music-has-a-29082533/
