#5 I was setting up a Raspberry Pi for the first time yesterday, remoting in over my network because I don't have the right cables for a direct connection. Next steps in setup were to bounce the network connection through command line. With full confidence, I executed the down command, and took a full 5 seconds before I asked out loud "Hey Tom, how the fuck are you gonna execute the up command when you're remoting in?"
And then I slowly sunk into the soil and loam, never to emerge.
At least they're in high spirits

Old job, requested PTO to visit my father who had been diagnosed with cancer. Manager rejected the request, said TO MY FACE, "It's not really a vacation, is it? You can apply for unpaid leave under FMLA."
I swear to Christ it took all of my willpower not to throw hands right there. HR was no help, and they denied my request to work remotely - "We can't risk you bringing the laptop on the road" - so I lost a week of pay and had to make up the work when I got back.
