The Bentley cockpit coachwork was coated in green leather, that's why it looks matte compared to the glossy British Racing Green bonnet (hood) and fenders. I learned that when I was building an Airfix model kit that I had previously built as a boy and, back in the 1970s, I had inexpertly painted the car one shade of green. It was very tricky to get that two-tone look, and it tested me to the limits of my abilities, but I ended up loving that texture offset.
Thanks, everyone. Here's the full eight-minute short: https://vimeo.com/1434050
Wonderful. I was always fascinated by the game and, a lifetime ago, I made a short film about it: https://imgur.com/board-game-CNyt4VA

Thanks, Volcano. Alzheimers took my Mum and Dad, so Alanna's TED talk hit home.

Can somebody help me out? What size is that boulder?
It's quite something to stand in frint of the original in the Rotunda at the National Archives. I did that in 2009. No flash photography. Don't touch the glass. Curtain Boy is a dope.
Same here (Los Angeles)
Sweet to see this movie getting some love after all this time. I guess it's streaming now at Mazzazon. Many moons ago, I covered the heck out of it for CFQ magazine (old articles at the link). Let's do some carnage! https://www.flashfilms.us/Offline_pages/CFQ_files/CFQ_MysteryMen.pdf
Ol rait!
I do have a small personal safety taser, which my g/f gave me. It’s been in a drawer for years but I might add this to my dog poop bags as part of my daily ritual. How f***ing sad.
It’s everywhere. I was screamed at yesterday while waiting at a crosswalk, walking my dog. I have a sore throat, was wearing a face mask because of bad air in aftermath of ongoing LA fires. White male in an old convertible Caddy, flying a giant American flag, honked on his horn repeatedly and yelled at me as he drove by, one arm cocked, backwards ballcap, all-American asshole. It was like a scene out of a David Lynch film, casual toxic white male suburban rage, just slapped in my face.

Just noticed I got my dates wrong, but can't edit the image caption. These were both from 1983.
Yep, Star Wars (pardon my typo), Empire, and Return of the Jedi.

A perfectly modulated thread for our times. Thanks for the chuckles.
80 million registered voters apparently chose not to vote in 2020 (per NPR below). Trump’s numbers this year were, also apparently, a little lower than 2020. Thus, it might seem that approximately 90 million eligible voters were apathetic toward the 2024 presidential election. That’s roughly equivalent to the population of Turkey were simply ‘meh, Trump? whatevs.’ https://www.npr.org/2020/12/15/945031391/poll-despite-record-turnout-80-million-americans-didnt-vote-heres-why
