To consolidate most of the comments, "beware of rabies, ticks, never touch the wildlife, oh no you touched the wildlife, lyme disease!"
I feel bad for all the people in this comment section that do not realize cameras do not have to be connected to the internet
Students should not have homework!
$200 you say? 🤔

I mean, logically speaking, yes. However, finding qualified astronauts that fit that criteria is a lot less likely. Must be fit, must meet certain strength requirements, must be able to fit the systems in place, must be ok with potentially dying if the mission goes wrong, etc. I would live to be an astronaut, and I meet your criteria perfectly. I am petite, don't weigh much, don't eat much. I'm a guy, so you would disqualify me automatically, but I am also not fit enough to be an astronaut
Much like history is written by the victor, civics is written by those in control. If you actually read what I had to say and couldn't see the flaws, even when they are directly pointed out, you are hopeless. I admire your optimism, believing in a system that is broken and shown time and time again to not work, and believing that it is not manipulated in any way and works exactly how you have been told it does. That is a lot of stretching. Good luck
And blue will just work together to ensure that policy doesn't change in any meaningful way. Sure, small things might get changed. But what they really want is for me to blame the 20000, and them to blame me. And no amount of voting will ever stop that. For my vote to actually mean anything, I would have to vote on policy and law, not some representative to do it for me. Do you understand now? As long as someone else is making the decisions, NO ONE'S VOTES MATTER!!!
I'm going to anyway, because I can already see the very flawed counter arguments forming. We have two parties who dominate our political landscape. It doesn't matter which one wins, because the policies on both sides are absolute garbage, and they write each other out every couple of years. We cannot make progress. There is no compromise. And that's how they like it! We, the people who are affected, cannot shape policy. Sure, we can vote for a person who says they will do this and that, but red
Human. Therefore, ALL of my states votes go to that cheeto. My vote disappears. Are you seeing the pattern?
And the most fucked up part? Of those 5 million, a full half of them could disagree with a good bit of his policies, but voted for him because the other guys policies were even worse, though he did have some good policies. Do you actually see the fucking problem now? Or do I have to go into further detail?
Else who would do the same.
Now, at the same time, I also voted for county officials. The same scenario as the above applies. I vote for one guy, 200,000 vote for the other. My vote doesn't matter, policies are enacted, blah blah blah.
At the same time, I voted for state officials. I voted one way, 5 million voted the other. Now, those state officials will set policies that I don't agree with. Ah well
I ALSO voted for president. Welp, 5 million people voted for a cheeto pretending to be a
20,000 people in my town disagree. They vote for the more awful option. He wins, and every single one of his policies goes into effect. What i think does not matter. And, in all fairness, what the other 20,000 think doesn't matter either. He is going to do whatever he wants. If it is unpopular, he gets voted out and the next guy does the same thing. But both the candidate I voted for and the one the 20,000 others voted for would have performed the same actions, and would be replaced by someone
Buddy pal friend of mine, that is exactly how it works. Any thought other wise is delusional. Yes yes, I'm not stupid, I know there are individual votes for each position. However, in the grand scheme, not a single one of my votes has ever counted.
Since you obviously have to have an argument broken down to its most granular component in order to understand it, I'll try again. I vote for a seat on my local community. Both candidates are awful, but one is slightly less awful. However, the other
Larger picture. Red and blue? They are the same. Neither will ever make a fundamental change that matters. Even if blue consolidated every single seat, every single office, every single position, every single person, nothing would change. The downward slide would continue. Blue would still blame red, you would still blame whoever they told you to (in this case, non voters, in other cases immigrants, whichever faction you can be convinced to hate), and the status quo is maintained. Illusion.
That decides the federal level. They have just enough power to not be able to do anything to fundamentally change things, but just enough to enact the changes that the few with real power want made.
My vote? That disappeared into that first pile and stopped counting. It didn't matter beyond that first color choosing. I have no say in anything that happens, because I don't agree with the majority in my area.
But all of that, every single bit of it, ceases to matter when you look at the even
Your argument falls apart very quickly when you look at the whole picture. My vote goes into a big pile. That pile turns red or blue. That determines the local people. All of which have just enough power to make the higher ups decisions meaningless if they so choose. That pile of votes then goes to a larger pile. That turns red or blue. That chooses the states leaders. They have just enough power to make the federal decisions meaningless. Now, that very large pile gets added to a very large pile
I'm surprised this made it to the front page. Imgur is really more of a "vote for the guys who are a little less bad, even though it won't make any difference, because voting makes a difference" type place, not a "let's do something that would work" type place
So, what you are saying is that who we voted for didn't matter because someone else controlled that part of the system?
Omfg no we fucking didn't. How blind are you that you think ANY of this is in our control? We have nothing but the illusion of choice! It does not matter who we vote for, it does not matter what we say, and it does not matter what we do! And perpetuating this myth that voting and peaceful protesting can actually change things is just going to make things worse!
You're not the same as a banana pepper. HA!
I have a feeling that at some point, she has probably been walking around in her underwear and yelled at him for giving her attention just because she was in her underwear, so he has now trained himself to not pay attention to her just because she is wearing underwear so he doesn't make her mad. The trick is learning when they want your attention and when they don't, and never ever getting it wrong
I think you missed a very, very, very, very large part of that comment. They said a working WARP DRIVE, not our standard rocket engines
I hate to tell you this, buddy, but they already do that. Try to torrent without a VPN and you will very quickly get a letter telling you what you downloaded, what your ip is, how long you downloaded, etc. This judgement is good for several reasons.
1. It keeps the status quo, which is easy to beat
2. It prevents isp shutdowns
3. It keeps isp's from having to spy harder to prevent users from doing naughty things
4. It keeps pirates from having to step up their game, which would make things wors
It should all boil down to a liability problem. Did Ford or S&W have a reasonable way to prevent how their items were used? Guns are used for sport and entertainment far more than they are for hunting or shooting people. Cars are used far more often for getting to a destination than they are for running over people. Should we also put the blame on computer manufacturers for electronic crimes? Or drill manufacturers if someone drills a safe with one? No, because that is terrible logic
It is funny you say that, cause a lot of gun control advocates actually want guns treated this way. Another good one is suing car manufacturers for car accidents
The sewer lid is further
I absolutely hate it. There is no point in it, and it just creates extra complexity for no good reason. The first item should not be 0!
Glad my case has the button on the front under a ledge
Neat
I think there's a "let this grieving soul retire" joke in there somewhere
