In this socio-political climate, 2 weeks is the average attention span for Americans indirectly affected by his lies and trespasses. Yes... Unfortunately this is a real outcome. The guy who couldn't get a living wage will go to jail (for a long time as an example most likely) and insurance will more than cover the damage and they'll be up and running business as usual in a reasonable amount of time
That's true of some, but definitely not all modern shoes. I used to work for one of the main sport shoe brands and a lot went into the various tech to not only be wear resistant but light, supportive, breathable and waterproof etc
With one exception perhaps the vast majority of these have cushioning made of some sort of cork paste sandwiched between leather. I just don't see how that can compare to the support and materials of modern shoes. They are definitely not meant for the wild, but I would further say they aren't really meant for walking any real distance at all because city/pavement walking is actually hard on the foot.

I like watching the process of working with leather but I would never wear any of these because of both style and lack of comfort. Honestly most of these look like they would be worn by car salesmen. imo 🤷
