I worked front desk for a local Hardie contractor. At least monthly we had someone calling freaking out bc their siding was ruined and Hardie wouldn't replace it. Also my boss paid Angie's List big $$$ to hide our bad reviews and keep us at 4 stars. Even though he was a pill head who fucked up jobs all the time
James Hardie composite siding is bug here in the US. Lots of contractors sell it. It has a "lifetime warranty" and costs about 80k for a standard 2 story house. HOWEVER, in the fine print you MUST have James Hardie installers do the work. If you buy from your local contractor and have his guys put it on? Warranty null and void. And each piece must be carefully cleaned after install bc it is full of silicon dust and will dry onto the siding leaving a milky haze and ruining it.
