That wouldn’t solve the common password problem, assume you don’t have the most common password but the second or third most common. By confirming the username exists those accounts are now vulnerable. If you don’t confirm the account exits attackers aren’t going to bother trying these additional common passwords on the off chance the account is even there.

Stuff like early childhood education are literal high ROI investments in a society. You turn a tax burden criminal into a societal asset by simply making their life better. I’m absolutely sick of terrible people thinking that because they are doing evil things those things are somehow the “tough but necessary choices”, half the time it’s just needless cruelty that ends of vastly costing society.

Funnily, the French have protested themselves into such a working government that their protests no longer work. The last major one was because the government raised the retirement age. They did that because even with high taxes (that create brain drain) the government still couldn’t afford to pay the retirement benefits. So the protests did nothing. But that’s only because there isn’t much you can do to fix that type of problem. It isn’t, “pointless war” or “presidents a pedo” like in the US.
The US produces more goods than it ever has it just does so with massively less workers. For every job that went overseas two disappeared because of automation. Which is why you can’t tariff your way back to a healthy manufacturing job sector. Those jobs simply don’t exist anymore. Let’s not be so intellectually lazy as to paint capitalism as this Leviathan bogeyman when in reality it’s billions of people making millions of choices. People do that with communism to equally unhelpful ends.
Plus if you did make an AI that told people difficult truths people would just switch to OpenAssKiss v3.5.

If you look at the price people were spending on CDs/DVDs and VHS tapes in the 1990-2010 even if the net is exactly the same (which I think is actually quite a bit less now) we likely went from a few people spending a ton on that type of media and plenty of people spending basically nothing to where everyone spends mostly the same amount. I think this homogenization of payments probably makes some certain types of media no longer viable.
And you know if he didn’t get the shit kicked out of him 30 more would come back next year. They infect any space they are tolerated in and pretend to be the victim when people call them on their bullshit.

That was an escalation of force, and people do get in trouble for that. I’m not saying the dude who punched him needs to like go to jail for the rest of his life but like 20 hours of community service seems appropriate. He was trying to help but seeing as they weren’t hitting each other he didn’t need to start throwing punches. We are just lucky nobody had a gun, it’s stupid situations like this where people end up dead over nothing.
His Wikipedia page said he rescinded those denial claims in 2016, claims he made in 1991 when he was 21.
Thieves tend to cut their losses when discovered, the fact he was sticking around should give a person pause.
