Actually I think it could be awesome to live in such a place. They just need help updating sanitation situations, electricity and plumbing, and structural integrity. It already exists. It just needs the benefits of a green revolution and investment from a peace dividend, if there ever is one.

Imagine owning this in posh NY and some drunk schlub in an old Model-T crashes into it and then just drives off. No cops. No insurance. No body shop. Just a mangled work of art.
I wouldn't trust a pet owner who DIDN'T talk to their pet.
Stop feeling bad about this. Doing exercises with weights needs to start small. Don't think of working your muscles alone. You need to build up cartilage, bones, and ligaments all together. That takes weeks and months or more to build up but is just as necessary to real strength. Don't focus on muscles alone. And take a yoga class too.
